Seiki announces the arrival of a new UHDTV of 65” to be attached to the models of 39” and 50” already on the U.S. market. Same design, favorable price and same restrictions on output which does not exceed 30Hz 4K. Despite that, this tv has the potential to surpass televisions of all sizes and types. We often speak of Seiki Digital, a misunderstood brand that appeared out of nowhere on the lists of some American retailers with two UHDTV by popular prices, offered at a fraction of those offered by manufacturers such as Sony, LG and Samsung. Today, the Japanese brand announces the arrival of a third model of 65″ diagonal reserved for a dream TV by several thousand dollars.
For this giant TV of more than a meter and a half diagonal Seiki is asking $ 3000, a price once again lower than the patterns of the major brands but not so much as for the previous models from 39″ and 50″ available on Amazon U.S. for $ 700 and $ 900.
4K but the output is limited to 30Hz
The UHDTV whose full name is Seiki Ultra HD 4K 65″ SE65UY04, reflects the style of the lower models and also inherits the same Achilles heel. The refresh rate is limited to 30Hz for the resolution of 3840 × 2160, rising to 120Hz only when it comes down to 1080p. The only input provided is HDMI 1.4 which is also the reason of the limit at 30Hz.
The statement today does not go into details but given the minimalist approach of the previous models we do not expect anything different both in terms of video quality defined more than acceptable by those who have tried despite the low refresh rate. The new Seiki 65″ will arrive on the U.S. market starting in December and now the brand still does not seem interested in a debut on the European market.
